Conditions at the Pine Ridge Golf Club in Coram were close to perfect when I visited last Tuesday, June 8. Greens ran as pure as I can recall on any area course, and faster than expected. Rough was penal but fair.
The four-hole stretch from #11 through #14 is a beast. Even with a series of well-struck shots on the treacherous, 571-yard 11th, I walked off the green with a double-bogey 7 and a sense of accomplishment. From tee to green I couldn't have played the hole any differently.
All in all, with its pristine conditions and challenging, lengthy par-4s, Pine Ridge is fast becoming a preferred stop in central Suffolk.
