The Swan Lake Golf Club in Manorville will host a Saturday Scramble on November 13, an event open to all players willing and able to putt the course's enormous greens while braving a mid-autumn chill. Shotgun start is scheduled for 11 a.m. Bring long sleeves and lag putts.
A buffet dinner and two-hour open bar will follow the afternoon on the course, with cash prizes distributed to winning foursomes. Entry fee for the scramble is $100 per person (cash only).
To register, drop by the Swan Lake pro shop. All players must sign up and pay by Sunday, November 1.
Swan Lake is a 7,035-yard par-72 (6,375 from the middle tees) that features Long Island's most tremendous putting surfaces. Fairways are wide open, though some sport gaping sand traps. Water is a threat on several holes and creates picturesque scenes on a few others.
