Golfing Magazine recently announced its 2010 Long Island Dream Golf Club, this season's collection of the Island's finest 18 holes and top off-course facilities. The club's six public golf holes can all be found on the front nine of this 6,636-yard par-71.
Every Monday through the winter, Golf On Long Island will feature one public hole from the Dream Golf Club along with commentary from Golfing Magazine editors. Photographs and additional commentary are provided by Golf On Long Island where available. To view the 2010 Dream Club's 18-hole lineup, re-visit the original post here.

PINE RIDGE GOLF CLUB -- HOLE #5
207 / 188 / 161 yards
Designed by Ron Forse and Don Bachus
"Upon first glance, this long par-3 seems fairly straightforward. It's slightly uphill to a green that's open up front. But there isn't much room for error, as the green is located in an amphitheater of trees, and bunkered to the right and left. The putting surface itself is large and undulating, and can lead to some very tricky putts. With the majestic pines that surround the hole, you won't feel much of a breeze ... but the flight of your ball once it reaches treetop-level could be affected, adding another dimension to this par-3."
This past June, Rob noted that course conditions were "close to perfect." Golf On Long Island first visited Pine Ridge in August 2009:
"It's a good idea to stay short and chip on at #5, a 196-yarder where an overworked tee shot can find either of two bulky traps."
