An ongoing saga in the Hamptons is finally drawing to a close. The Fairway Restaurant will return to the Poxabogue Golf Center in Sagaponack this summer, according to Michael Wright of The Southampton Press.
The popular cafe closed last year as a result of a lease dispute. In August, plans for a new cafe were ditched when a mold problem was discovered in the building. After cleanup, the Southampton Town Board accepted bids for a new lease and received only two. The town awarded the lease on Tuesday to Fairway owner Dan Murray.
The nine-hole golf course at Poxabogue was largely unaffected by the turmoil, though the mold issue and ongoing legal and economic issues had put the fate of the course in jeopardy. For background on the Poxabogue issue, check out the links below:
