Of local interest, #2-seed Bethpage Black (ranked #7 overall in the 2011-12 public list) will try to stave off an upset bid from #15-seed Hawktree Golf Club beginning May 26. The 7,085-yard par-72 out of Bismarck, North Dakota features black-sand bunkers and hills covered in native grasses.
You can vote on this match from May 26 to May 29 and follow along with the tourney anytime at GolfDigest.com. The contest is already underway, with the #1 overall seed Pebble Beach walking through its matchup with an overwhelmed Pumpkin Ridge by a 394-71 tally.
