Tax Day is Monday. In the spirit of saving money, drop by the Brentwood and Holbrook Country Clubs this weekend or any other time through the end of April to take advantage of a "Welcome Back" spring discount.
Both Town of Islip municipal courses frequently offer special rates. This month, you can ride anytime after 10 a.m. for $42, or walk anytime after 11 a.m. for only $24. To take advantage of the discount , each player must bring a printed website coupon and reserve their tee time online.
The special rate is valid at Brentwood Tuesday through Sunday, and at Holbrook Wednesday through Monday. Holbrook is often closed for outings on Tuesdays.

Brentwood CC is a Devereux Emmet design that is flat, open and enjoyable for walkers and beginners. A stretch of short par-4s on the back nine make it a good course for scoring low. Holbrook CC is a tougher test thanks to uncomfortably narrow fairways. Tall pines overshadow all playing areas and punish inaccuracy.
