Metcalf, the "heart and soul" of the Suffolk organization, passed away in 1999. One of Long Island's newest and most picturesque public courses, Hamlet Willow Creek takes players on a ride between, over and around a dozen holes worth of water hazards and nearly 100 sand traps -- from small pot bunkers to sprawling waste areas. The 555-yard ninth hole and the 526-yard 15th were each highlighted in past editions of Golfing Magazine's Long Island Dream Club. For more on Hamlet Willow Creek, check out the course flyover.
