Golf On Long Island received a tip from reader John Usher that the West Sayville Golf Course has already packed it in for the 2014 season. The Suffolk County-owned course typically reopens in mid-March.
Meanwhile, there is still more than a week to get some swings in at Timber Point Golf Course in Great River. The 27 holes on Great South Bay will close for the season on Sunday, December 28. Look for a reopening in March on or around St. Patrick's Day, when the course hosts an Irish-themed holiday scramble.
