The Town of Huntington has approved license agreements with two Long Island-based companies to replace Integrity Golf as operators at Crab Meadow Golf Course and Dix Hills Park Golf Course, according to reports in Newsday and The Huntingtonian.
Dietz Golf Corp. of Calverton will take over golf operations at the two town courses, and Gelucci Brands LLC of Huntington will run Crab Meadow's restaurant and snack bar. Steven Dietz is the current general manager at Crab Meadow and has held the position under previous course operators. Contracts with the two operators will run through December 2021.
In November, Town of Huntington board members voted unanimously to revoke its license agreement with Florida-based Integrity Golf, citing failure to meet contractual obligations, which included renovations and additions to Crab Meadow's dining facilities, along with other capital improvements.
Huntington will gain $490,000 from the two agreements during the five-year contract term:
Gelucci Brands LLC, which is operated by Mark Gelish, who owns Mac’s Steakhouse in Huntington and runs the catering operation at the Huntington Yacht Club, is to pay the town $220,000 to lease and operate a restaurant and snack bar at Crab Meadow for the five-year contract.
Dietz will pay the town $270,000 over five years to lease, operate and manage the pro shops at both facilities. -- Deborah S. Morris, Newsday, 1/19/2017
