Combining equestrian sports and golf has been a Long Island tradition going back to the 1890s. Mixing Long Island golf with Bluegrass State horse racing, however, is a new experience, one that Pine Ridge Golf Club is taking for a ride this Saturday afternoon.
Pine Ridge is hosting a Kentucky Derby Golf Classic on Saturday, May 5, consisting of a shotgun outing and Derby viewing party. The golf portion of the day tees off at 12 noon on the Coram course, with the party and dinner to follow at 5 p.m. Keeping with the Derby theme, there will be a Best Hat contest with prizes.
Fee for the full slate of activities is $75 per player, which includes green fee, cart, party and dinner. Dinner/party-only guests can attend for $30. Register online at the Pine Ridge website.
