A lengthy list of public and municipal golf courses around Long Island announced Tuesday that they will reopen for play -- some today, some tomorrow -- with social-distancing precautions in place to ensure the safety of players.
What looked like a statewide shutdown of public golf on Monday morning quickly reversed within hours once the state announced its park golf courses would reopen on Tuesday. A number of non-munis announced they would follow the lead of the state parks and reopen as well. Those announcements continued Tuesday when the following courses posted their own reopenings, effective today:
- Cherry Creek Links and Woods
- Town of Oyster Bay municipal course
- Middle Island Country Club
- Nassau County municipal courses (Eisenhower Blue and White; North Woodmere; Cantiague; Christopher Morley)
- Spring Lake (reopening Thursday)
- Swan Lake (reopening Thursday)
Note that measures are in place to limit contact, including walking only (or single-rider carts), reservations only, no-touch flagsticks and more. Contact the individual courses either online or by phone for specific measures.
Thanks for keeping us a updated...confusing times.
